Instead, we're gonna have this skewer mount up at the front, which should grip your bike by the forks. This skewer mount can be removed and replaced, so you can use it with through-axles as well.Coming to the back here, we have this wheel strap, which is adjustable along the length of the bike rack to accommodate bikes of different sizes.And with the bike and bike rack installed, we're not gonna have any issues of clearance between our rear hatch and the bike rack itself, as you can see here.At the rear portion of the bike rack, we do have an integrated cable lock, which you can replace this plastic piece here with a Yakima lock core system, and make it key to like with your roof rack as well as the front part of the bike rack here. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. First off, how this bike is actually gripped to the bike rack, we're not going to have any frame contact at all. Instead at the front here, we have our 9 millimeter skewer holding in our bike by the fork mounts. Now, this also works for through axles. You can remove this and use it with through axles from 12 to 15 to 20 millimeters large. At the back here, we have this wheel strap that will hold the rear wheel in place. more

RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMount Switch Hitter roof top bike rack, part number RKY1270. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. First off, how the bike actually attaches to the rack, we're going to have no frame contact at all. Instead, we have this quick release skewer up here at the front, which will grip your bike by the fork mounts. This will work with nine millimeter, excuse me, quick release skewers, or 12 to 15 millimeter through axles. At the back here, we have this strap here that'll hold the rear wheel into place. This strap is adjustable length of the bike rack, and this is going to help out with different size bikes. With everything attached right now, we have full access to our rear hatch, but we're now also not going to have any clearance issues between the hatch and the bike rack itself, as you can see here. It does have an integrated cable lock at the end, which you can wrap around your bike for additional security. more

RockyMounts Roof Bike Racks Review - 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan RKY1201- Video

Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles Roof Top Bike Rack, part number RKY1202. This is a pretty unique bike rack for the roof in that instead of having to remove your front wheel for say for a fork mount, you can actually leave it on and it grips your entire bike on the roof, and it still maintains no frame contact at all. Instead it uses this wheel hook up at the front and two wheel straps on each tire. These wheel straps are adjustable along the bike rack itself, and this is too accommodate different sized bikes. With the bike installed I'd like to show you that you have no clearance issues with the roof rack in this configuration between the hatch and the bike rack itself. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. We'll start by loosening up the wheel straps, pushing up on the top of the tabs which will release them. more

Today on our 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan we're doing a test fit of the no tire hold roof mounted bike rack. That part number is INA389, now we already have our bike loaded up and secured down. First we're going to show you how we secure our bike in to place and then go over some features of the rack itself. I'm actually going to step up into my vehicle, since it is a higher vehicle there. Now here in the back we have a ratcheting tire hold, this is going to push that entire bike up into our front tire hold. It ratchets down using our box here, where you just lift up and release that, it also locks into place as well which will prevent any theft or tampering of your bike rack and you bike. To release our entire bike we're going to hand on, open up our box here and let that back tire hold just fall back into place. more

Our Caravan here already has its factory rails installed, we can go ahead and begin by setting our brass knuckles on top. You want to make sure that your straps are undone we can feed them underneath the rails. We go ahead and center that up best we can, then we'll come up top, we'll remove this. This is going to reveal our tightening screw and before you begin tightening that down, let me go ahead and show you that you straps are going to want to lodge up in here that we can tighten them. We'll lay it back down and we'll make sure that each strap is in its location we can tighten it down. more

RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, well be test fitting the Rocky Mounts tie rod roof-mounted bike rack, part number RKY1014. With the factory roof rack on our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing our pitchfork directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, well go ahead and remove our black plastic cover, bring our straps around our front bar, and fit them back into the head of our carrier. Well then use an Allen key to tighten our Allen bolt which will tighten our straps around our bar. Once we have that tight, we can replace our black plastic cover.Here at the rear, well loosen up our Allen bolts to bring our rear clamp around our rear bar. Well feed the Allen bolt back through and tighten in place using an Allen key. more

Kuat TRIO Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be testing fitting the Kuat-Trio roof mounted bike rack, part number RU01. With the factory roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the Trio directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front we'll take our U-bolts, bring them round the underside of our front crossbar fitting them back up through the front of our bike rack. We'll take our nuts and tighten them on the ends of the bolts. Now we'll repeat this process for the other U-bolt at the front of our bike rack. We'll take the included tool to tighten down each nut on our two U-bolts. With the front and rear secure, we can go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap and make sure our skewer at the front is loose. We'll grab our bike and place it onto the Trio, dropping our front forks down onto the skewer. We'll secure the bike first by tightening the skewer and then move to the rear and tighten with the wheel strap. With the bike all loaded up, we're ready to go. That completes today's test fit of the Kuat-Trio roof mounted bike rack, part number RU01 on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. . more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, well be test fitting the Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number Y02098. With the factory roof rack system on our vehicle, well begin our test fit by placing our ForkLift directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front, we need to go ahead and remove our skewer. Well loosen up the T-handle to bring our front clamp around our front bar. Well drop the T-bolt through the appropriate slot and then use the T-handle to tighten it in place. Well place the slotted bracket around our T-handle and reinstall our skewer. more

Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan we'll be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. With a factory roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin by placing the Fork Down directly onto our load bars. Here at the front platform we'll bring our U-bolts around the underside of our front load bar fitting the back up through the carrier. We'll secure it by tightening down two wing nuts. We'll do this for both sides of the front platform. Here at the rear, we'll drop our U-bolt through the top of our bike rack, making sure that the bolts go around each side of our rear load bar. more

RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test-fitting the Rocky Mountain Tierod Stretch roof mounted bike rack, part number RKY1011. With the factory roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the tierod stretchdirectly on to our crossbars. We'll remove the black plastic cover, and bring our straps around the front bar, fitting them back into the head of the carrier. We'll then use an allen key to tighten the allen bolt which will tighten our straps around our front bar. We can reinstall our skewer, and move to the rear. We'll loosen up our allen bolts to bring our rear clamp around our rear bar. We'll reinsert the leading allen bolt, and secure it by tightening down with an allen key. With the front and rear secure, we can go ahead and undo the rear wheel strap, and make sure our skewerat the front is loose. We'll grab our bike, and place it on our bike rack, dropping our front forks down on our skewer. We'll secure the bike first by tightening our skewer, and then move to the rear and tighten with the wheel strap. With our bike all loaded up, we're ready to go. That concludes today's test fit of the Rocky Mountain Tierod Stretch roof mounted bike rack, part number RKY1011 on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. . more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan well be test fitting the Yakima Frontloader roof-mounted bike carrier, part number y02103. Now with our vehicle already equipped with a factory installed roof rack system, well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicles crossbars. Well then place the head of the carrier on the front crossbar, and turn the black t-handle to pinch the two brackets on the front crossbar. Well then bring the back bracket around the underside of the rear crossbar, and insert the t-bolt into the bracket, and turn the black wing nut to tighten it down. Once both sets of brackets are tightened down were ready to load up our bike. Well undo the rear tray strap and bring the front part of the wheel hook out. more

Today on our 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Forklift roof-mounted bike carrier, part number Y02098. Now with our vehicle already equipped with a factory-installed roof rack system, we'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's crossbars. We'll then insert the T bolts into the front of the bracket and turn the black wing nut to tighten it down to secure the front of the carrier to the front crossbar. We'll then bring the black bracket around the rear crossbar, and insert the T bolts into the bracket and turn the black wing nut to tighten it down to secure the rear of the carrier to the rear crossbar. Once everything is tightened down, we'll then remove the skewer at the head of the carrier to insert the black plastic cap, which slides onto the black wing nut. We'll then replace the skewer, and we're ready to load our bike. more

Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan well be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number th513. Now with our vehicle already equipped with a factory roof rack system, well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicles crossbars. Note that you cannot access the front two Allen bolts without first removing the skewer. Well then use the Allen key to loosen up the Allen bolts on the front and rear of the carrier. Once the Allen bolts are loosened up we can then bring the brackets around the front and rear crossbar and use the Allen key to tighten them down and secure the carrier to the vehicles crossbars. RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan well be test fitting the RockyMounts Tierod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number rky1014. Now with our vehicle already equipped with a factory roof rack system, well begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicles crossbars. Well remove the black plastic cap and in no specific order well loosen up the Allen bolts at the rear of the carrier to bring the bracket around the rear crossbar as well as bringing the rubber-coated steel straps around the front crossbar and hooking them back into the head of the carrier. Well then use the Allen key to tighten down the Allen bolts to secure the carrier to the vehicle. Once the carrier is secured to the vehicle, were ready to load our bike. Well replace the black plastic cap at the head of the carrier and make sure our skewer is loosened up. more

RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting the Rockymounts Tierod Stretch roof-mounted bike carrier, part number RKY1011. With our vehicle already equipped with a factory roof rack system, we'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's cross bars. We'll then remove the black plastic cap at the head of the carrier to bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the front cross bar. We'll then loosen up the Allan bolts for the rear bracket, to bring the rear bracket around the rear cross bar. We'll then use the Allan keys to tighten down the Allan bolts, to secure the carrier to the vehicle. Once the carrier is secure to the vehicle, we're ready to load our bike. We'll replace the black plastic cap at the head of the carrier and loosen up the tray strap, and also make sure that the skewer is loosened up, as well. more

RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number RKY1014. Now, our vehicle is equipped with the Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack System and our bike rack is preassembled so we are ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. We'll start by setting the head of the bike rack on the front crossbar. We'll bring the rubber coated steel straps around and underneath the crossbar and secure it back to the head of the bike rack. We can then move the rear mounting point over the rear crossbar. We'll bring the rear clamp underneath and tighten it down with the wing nuts. more
